This Banana Bread Recipe Is Foolproof and So Good yields a moist, tender loaf packed with ripe banana flavor and a golden crust.

Ingredients

3 very ripe bananas mashed
1 half cup unsalted butter melted
3 quarters cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 and 1 half cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 half teaspoon salt
Optional 1 half cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan. Line with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl mash bananas until mostly smooth. Stir in melted butter.

  • Add sugar and mix well. Beat in eggs one at a time then stir in vanilla extract.

  • In a separate bowl whisk flour baking soda and salt.

  • Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture just until combined. Do not overmix.

  • Stir in nuts or chocolate chips if using.

  • Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.

  • Bake for 55 to 65 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.

  • Cool in pan for 10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
