A rich and comforting pasta dish featuring tender shrimp, a creamy Cajun-spiced sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta.

Ingredients

·         Shrimp – 450 g (1 lb), peeled and deveined

·         Pasta – 340 g (12 oz)

·         Olive oil – 2 tablespoons

·         Butter – 2 tablespoons

·         Garlic – 4 cloves, minced

·         Heavy cream – 480 ml (2 cups)

·         Grated Parmesan cheese – 100 g (1 cup)

·         Cajun seasoning – 2 teaspoons

·         Paprika – 1 teaspoon

·         Salt – 1 teaspoon

·         Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

·         Red bell pepper – 1 medium, sliced

·         Onion – 1 small, chopped

·         Chicken broth – 120 ml (½ cup)

·         Fresh parsley – 2 tablespoons, chopped

·         Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon

Instructions

1.      Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and reserve 120 ml (½ cup) pasta water.

2.      Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

3.      Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet. Cook shrimp 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

4.      Melt remaining butter in the same skillet. Sauté onion and bell pepper until soft. Add garlic and cook briefly.

5.      Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Simmer until slightly thickened.

6.      Stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth.

7.      Add pasta and shrimp, tossing to coat. Add pasta water if needed.

8.      Finish with lemon juice and parsley. Serve hot.

Notes

Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste for desired spice level. For a thinner sauce, add extra pasta water or a splash of milk when reheating.
