Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 12 tsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 8 small soft flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage (green or purple)
  • 1 small carrot, julienned
  • ½ avocado, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour the buttermilk into another bowl. Dip each shrimp into the buttermilk, then coat with the flour mixture.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth. Adjust sriracha to taste.
  4. Warm tortillas. Place shredded cabbage and carrots on each, top with shrimp, drizzle with Bang Bang sauce, add avocado slices, garnish with cilantro, and squeeze lime.
  5. Serve immediately with extra sauce and lime wedges.
